I have many jewels designed by my sister, Jill, in my collection. One of my very favorite jillijewels is the piece I’m wearing in this picture. This amazonite ~ citrine pendant necklace picked me one day while I was helping Jill set up a display of her lovely jewels. I couldn’t take the chance that someone would try to buy it; I knew it belonged to me. I reach for this necklace often, in the summer because the blue green amazonite is so summery and in the winter because it brings a little bit of summer to our dreary Midwestern weather. Citrine represents the sun and wearing my favorite necklace brings me to the beaches of sunny Southern California and reminds me of my sunny sister, Jill.
